To measure the effectiveness of the blog you can go to the stats tab and view how many times the blog has been viewed for the day, there is also stats and diagrams of the history of views of the page so you can see on what days your blog has had the most traffic drawn to it. It also measures the amount of time spent on the page by average this gives us an indication as to the attractiveness of the blog. This is the most effective and efficient of the tools that can be used for the blog although there are other options.
Another tool which could be used is google analytics to track how many people are viewing your blog and at what times they are looking at it.
There is also the option putting a poll into the blog which i have done on the side tab do gather information as to whether the blog viewers enjoyed their visit to the blog.
